5 Reasons Why Productivity Matters?

productivity

You may’ve been reading about productivity before. Heck, you’ve certainly heard from your boss you (and everyone else in the company for that matter) need to be more productive. It’s really hard to avoid reading about it these days, especially when you read an article about the government and how (in)efficient it is.

So why productivity matters? As a productive individual, you’ll be able to:

1. Achieve more

Productivity as a measure of efficiency that quantifies production in time. In that sense, productive people are capable to produce more results in less time (than their colleagues). This in turn allows you (as a productive individual) to achieve more with less resources, which leads me to the next point.

2. Advance in your carrier

More productive people climb the corporate ladder faster. If you’re working in some company, by increasing your productivity, you’ll advance in your carrier, making more money along the way. And as we know – it’s not all about the money, but about new challenges the new position brings to the table.

3. Become a star

Best producers in the company are stars. All great companies reward their most productive employees. If you start working on your productivity, someone from the management will notice it sooner or later, giving you the status and award (bonus?) as an employee of the month or something like that.

4. Leave more time for other things

When you’re able to produce the same results in less time, you’ll have more free time. If you’re not interested in corporate affairs, you can use that newly created time for something else. Whether it’s your family, favorite sport or something else – you just got some free time and you can use it for anything you like.

5. Feel better about yourself

Lazy people are boring. They lead boring lives, waiting for something to happen. When you get things done, you’re in control. And after every new task cleared from the list, you’ll feel even better. As an entrepreneur, this is the reward I get… and I love it. 😉

Hopefully, you’ll find inspiration in the words above to do something about your productivity. You can either be “yet another drone” or proactively change your situation by increasing your effectiveness. It’s your call…
