Skychain Uses Blockchain to Build High-Quality Medical Neural Networks

SkyChain

Artificial intelligence and blockchain are among the hottest technologies these days, and if some company decides to combine the two – it seems poised for success; at very least, it has positioned itself for an overwhelming media attention.

Now if we add healthcare to the mix, we get a killer app with the potential to seriously transform the industry. But it’s not that simple…

AI needs data

In fact, it needs massive amounts of data — the so called Big Data — to learn from it; because the more data it gets, the more accurate the AI becomes. And that’s the problem as most systems lack access to big data pools.

IBM, which has all the resources in the world, is still shopping around to feed its “Watson monster.” To that end, the Big Blue has even acquired companies, and has managed to make some strides along the way. However, what the industry ultimately needs is a healthcare data marketplace from where interested parties could buy datasets, such as medical histories from patient cards, medical reference and medical research data. Which leads us to the next section…

Enter Skychain

The Skychain project seemingly has what it takes to solve this conundrum; it will provide an infrastructure to host independent neural networks, which will be trained on massive amounts of datasets uploaded to the Skychain system by data providers.

The system is designed to provide an economic incentive to healthcare data providers, which will be rewarded every time someone uses their data to train an AI-based software, which means multiple payments rather than a single licensing deal.

As a result, Skychain hopes to have enough data for “proper” neural network training, and to make the system smarter with the day. This in turn could help Skychain-enabled software provide the most accurate diagnoses and prescribe the most suitable medical treatment.

Here’s how Skychain explains its technology:

Using a closed-loop system of Skychain, upload your private medical datasets, providing them for the training of third-party neural networks. Get royalty for every use of neural networks, trained with your datasets.

And if you want to participate in Skychain’s future, you will be glad to know that…

Token sale is on!

Currently, the Skychain project is in the pre-sale phase, offering tokens with a 50 percent discount through January 7, 2018. So if you were looking for a hot ICO, now’s your chance. Hop over to Skychain’s website for all the details, including the project’s white paper.
