Starbucks to Hire 68,000 Americans, Including Veterans and Teens (and Refugees)

Last week, Starbucks announced plans to open 12,000 locations across the world by 2021, including 3,400 new places in the United States. These locations will be served by more than 240,000 people, 68,000 of which will be in the U.S.

The company plans to hire refugees, veterans, and young people:

Beyond job opportunity, Starbucks also announced the new “Pathway to Admission” program, under which it will pay for classes and coaching for employees seeking a college degree.

Under the deal, employees who work more than 20 hours a week are eligible for full tuition reimbursement.
