We think of the Susan G. Komen® Credit Card is a special version of the BankAmericard Cash Rewards card — it offers all the same bells and whistles along with the ability to contribute to the efforts to prevent breast cancer. Also, the card comes with a 0% APR on purchases for the first 12 months, interest-free balance transfers for the first 60 days, and more. Here are the details…

How It Works?
Donate with card use: For each new card activated within 90 days of opening the card, the Komen® fund will receive $3, plus an ongoing 0.08% of all retail purchases made with the card. Bank of America on its side has pledged to contribute $3 million in conjunction with its Pink Ribbon Banking credit card and checking program through 2020. Since 2009, the Susan G. Komen® has received more than $7 million from Bank of America.
Online sign-up bonus: $100 after making $500 in purchases with the card within the first 90 days of account opening.
Cash back: Similar to the BankAmericard Cash Rewards, this card offers 3% cash back on gas and 2% at wholesale clubs (including Costco) and grocery stores, up to $2,500 in combined purchases per quarter. All other purchases get you 1% back and the same goes for gas and grocery purchases after the $2,500 limit has been reached. Rewards can be redeemed as a statement credit, a check, or an electronic deposit to a Bank of America checking or savings account.
Special rate for existing customers: Those with an existing Bank of America account will benefit from an ongoing 10% cash reward bonus when they redeem their cash back rewards directly into their Bank of America checking or savings account. Moreover, if you are a Gold, Platinum or Platinum Honors Bank of America® Preferred Rewards customer, you can increase that bonus to anywhere between 25% and 75%.
APR: Introductory 0% APR on purchases for 12 months, and any balance transfers made in the first 2 months. After that a variable APR ranging from 13.24% to 23.24% will apply, based on your creditworthiness.

Pros
- Online sign-up bonus – get $100 just for signing-up online. Not a bad feat for a card that has no annual fee.
- Cash back + 0% APR on purchases for the first 12 months, and balance transfers for the first 2 months. Not many cards offer 0% financing as well as rewards.
- Do good while using the card – as you use the card, you will also be supporting the Susan G. Komen® fund and its fight with breast cancer.
- Even higher rewards for existing BoA customers – those that already have a checking and/or savings account with Bank of America will benefit from a 10% customer bonus every time they redeem cash back rewards into their account.
Cons
- Foreign transaction fee – you will want to use a different card when visiting other countries. With this one, you will be charged 3% on every transaction.
- Capped rewards – 2% and 3% categories are capped and we understand why that’s the case. Still, we would like to see the higher cap on the two categories.
