Blockchain Consulting Platform Launching Soon

Experty.io is developing what it calls the “Uber for Knowledge Sharing” to make it easy for consultants to sell their services to interested businesses.

Finding a right consultant is often a pain. Most businesses “ask around” their friends and colleagues, or tirelessly search the web for the best candidate to help them solve some problem. Others are browsing LinkedIn profiles, only to find out that the person they like is busy.

There are some platforms that could help, but none has yet managed to reach a critical mass of business adoption.

On the other hand, consultants need help to find new clients. And so one company is creating a decentralized platform to connect consultants with businesses looking for their assistance.

But before we talk about that platform, let’s first see what’s at stake.

Can a blockchain-based platform help?

The basic premises of most blockchain-based platforms is openness, immutability and transparency. These premises fit perfectly with any knowledge sharing venture, consulting being one of them.

Many businesses need consulting services, but they are not sure they can afford them. So they opt to “do it themselves” and potentially do more harm than good.

In contrast, a decentralized system can potentially unlock the knowledge of experts around the globe. The pricing would be set upfront so that businesses know how much they will be charged at the end of the day.

This is a win-win scenario — clients get to know how much each consultant is charging so they can manage the cost, while consultants get more clients. Also, the platform facilitates automatic payments (via smart contracts) and calls between the two parties.

And it also aims to encourage the adoption of cryptocurrencies, saying that anyone who needs to make a consultation via the Experty.io app will also have a cryptocurrency wallet in their pocket.

The service, which is essentially a marketplace of experts and knowledge, is made to help experts monetize their skills through a Skype-like voice and video application. Also, the service handles payments through an automated smart contract system relying on Experty.io’s native token EXY. Per minute rates are set by publicly rated experts, and refunds can be given via the smart contract if they fail to provide adequate service.

As for what kind of experts you will be able to find on the platform, Experty.io mentions lawyers, business advisors, medical consultants and anyone else willing to share his/her knowledge for a price.

The company thinks this decentralized approach is the way of the future, and we tend to agree.

“Nowadays, people prefer less control [over] what they do from the various governments,” Tom Dyl, CTO and Co-Founder of Experty.io, said in a statement. “They also prefer to see and use quicker services and services that make their lives easy in the long run. This is the gap that Blockchain seeks to fill.”

Experty.io is still under development and right now it is raising funds through an Initial Coin Offering (ICO). You can get more details on its website and/or join the conversation on Telegram.
