Bed, Bath & Beyond is known for selling goods primarily for the bedroom and bathroom, as well as kitchen and dining room. Whether you are looking for linens, bath mats, picture frames, small kitchen appliances, curtains or something else for your living spaces — chances are you will find it in your local BB&B store and from its website.
BB&B offers great deals on these products but you can save even more money. And here we want to help you do just that. Here are…
10 Ways to Save Money at Bed, Bath & Beyond
So that next time you need to buy something for your home, you can save…
1. Take advantage of BB&B’s price matching policy
BB&B will price match for direct competitors only. This includes Amazon.com, but not third-party marketplace sellers or membership clubs. So, when you walk into a local BB&B store, make sure to fire-up the Amazon app to check for prices. If you find that some item costs less at Amazon, just mention that to an assistant and get a better price. Amazon’s app is super-easy to use — just scan the barcode and see what pops up.
2. Check out the clearance section
Here you can find some amazing deals, including closeouts. The best time to check out for clearances is early in the week, as stores apparently replenish the markdowns during the weekend. Some users have reported finding items on sale for up to half-off in this section. You just have to be willing to search the shelves or visit the clearance section of BB&B’s website.
3. Stack your coupons
Like any other major retailers, BB&B will mail you coupons on a regular basis. Store them somewhere, and when the time comes — put them to good use. The retailer allows you to use multiple coupons in a single transaction when buying more than one item so make sure to plan for that transaction. If you need a specific item from BB&B, try googling a coupon for it before visiting the store. Also, you may want to sign-up for BB&B’s newsletter to get coupons delivered to your inbox. Finally, you may even want to try using expired coupons as the company is known to accept them, though that’s not the case all the time. Nothing stops you from trying, right?
4. Use manufacturer coupons
While Bed, Bath & Beyond has its signature blue-and-white coupons, it is also accepting coupons issued by manufacturers. This may not work every time, but from what we’ve read — nine out of 10 times you can “get away” with it. The reason for this is simple — BB&B is working with many of these manufacturers and has a way to get the money back. So it is just making those savings available to its customers. The take home note is don’t throw away those coupons before trying them out.
5. Follow BB&B on social media
Speaking of coupons, you can score great deals by spotting them on BB&B’s social media channels. The company has established profiles on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and YouTube. From time to time, it will highlight some product (or more of them) and share good deals you may want to take advantage of. We think it’s worth your time.
6. Use a cash-back site
Ebates is the number one website for getting cash-back on many of your purchases. Right now, it is offering 2 percent cash-back on online purchases from Bed, Bath & Beyond. Also, the site lists many BB&B deals so you may want to check it out. Generally speaking, you should use Ebates for just about anything you buy.
7. Get pre-owned gift cards
Gift cards keep topping the chart as one of the most sought after gifts. However, not everyone is able or want to use them, and would rather get a cash instead. So what are they doing with a gift card they don’t need? They sell it at a discount. And that’s where you kick in to buy this pre-owned gift card and save. You can buy these gift cards for BB&B at sites like Gift Card Granny and Raise and save around 4 percent. (Related: 7 Gift Card Hacks to Help You Save Money)
8. Grab deals with gift cards
While we’re at gift cards… BB&B wants you as a regular customer and as part of that strategy, it will occasionally offer gift cards when customers buy certain items. The trick here is NOT to buy things you don’t need, but if you’re choosing between two similar items, one of which offers a gift card, go for that one. Then later on redeem it for something else you need.
9. Get free shipping
Free shipping applies to pretty much all orders that are worth $29 or more. Certain exclusions apply, so be sure to check the store’s shipping policies for more details. In real-life, this means that you may want to order something extra just to reach that threshold.
10. Consider a BB&B credit card
Like that’s the case with any major retailer, BB&B also has a credit card of its own. The Bed Bath and Beyond MasterCard comes with a $25 off $100 coupon when you receive your card. Also, it offers 5% back in rewards for every $1 you spend at Bed Bath & Beyond, buybuy BABY Christmas Tree Shops and That!, Cost Plus World Market and Harmon Face Values; as well as 2% back on gas and groceries; and 1% of all other purchases. Plus, you can get 6 or 12 months of interest-free financing on BB&B purchases of $250-$500 or $500, respectively. After that, a variable APR of 24.74%, 18.74%, or 14.74% will apply, based on your creditworthiness.
