You may have heard that Costco will be increasing its annual membership. Effective June 1st, the Costco Gold Star and Business membership fee will go from $55 to $60, while the Executive membership — which gives you 2% cash-back on everything you buy at Costco — will be $120, up from $110.
Even though that’s not a big increase, you don’t want to pay more if you don’t have to. Saving money here and there is one of the points of this website. And here we want to advise you how you can potentially save on this price hike. It all, however, depends on your renewal date…
You see, you can renew your membership up to 60 days in advance of your actual renewal anniversary. So if your renewal anniversary is between June 1 and July 31, then you can renew in April or May and still pay the $55 price for another year, or $110 for Executive members.
It’s that simple. So give it a try and save a few dollars for something else.
Or, you may want to check out Sam’s Club which is riding on the wave of Costco’s price hike. It is currently running an amazing promotion at Groupon. New members are offered two options:
- One-Year Sam’s Club Savings Membership Package for $30 – instead of $55 making for a 45% discount
- One-Year Sam’s Club Savings Membership + Instant Savings Package for $45 – instead of $156 for a massive 71% discount
Again, this great offer is for new customers only — renewals are not valid.
