Let’s face it, after September 11th, air travel became less enjoyable. There are good reasons for the extra security at airports, but sometimes it can stand on a way… Luckily, there is something you can do about it — to apply to TSA PreCheck and Global Entry programs. The former gives access to shorter lines and a much less invasive screening process, while the latter allows for an expedited entry to the United States when arriving from another country. Also, with Global Entry you get to apply, free of charge to TSA PreCheck.
Global Entry application costs $100, while TSA’s PreCheck costs $85. So yes, it makes little sense to apply only to PreCheck. Also, it doesn’t make much sense to pay that fee out of pocket when there are cards offering a fee credit toward an application to these programs…
