
Bitcoin is still king of the cryptocurrency space. It is the most-widely accepted cryptocurrency with a growing network of ATMs enabling users to buy and sell their digital assets with little to no fuss.
On the other hand, Ethereum has been growing at an even faster pace in recent month, but it is still not as nearly as popular as Bitcoin (especially now that Bitcoin’s price has surpasses $4K). Nonetheless, all the media and corporate attention Ethereum got prompted many Bitcoin ATM (so called BTM) operators to include support for Ethereum as well as other popular cryptocurrencies, which combined are known as “altcoins.”
And that brings us to the point of this story… A few Bitcoin ATMs in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada got support for Ethereum, including those installed at these locations…

Also, LocalCoinATM — the company behind these ATMs — said that in the near future BTMs in Mississauga, Niagara Falls and Hamilton will also get Ethereum support.
How to use an Ethereum ATM
In order to buy Ethereum from these ATMs, you should:
- Press the “Buy Altcoins” key on a Crypto ATM, and
- Choose the Ethereum (ETH) symbol.
- You will be prompted to scan your wallet QR code to begin transaction.
You must have an existing Ethereum (ETH) wallet in order to buy ether through these machines.
